Each team is allowed a minimum of two participants and a maximum of six to take part in the Rhino Charge itself. Sometimes it is hard to fill the slots which leaves room for the runners in the back, other times we are overwhelmed with interest. This year it's a full house. Car 30 has introduced 47 different people to the Rhino Charge experience plus a further 39 in-camp supporters.
Edward Johnstone - SA, UK, Kenya

By dint of being the official entrant, Edward gets to choose the driving seat although hanging upside down by the straps with petrol pouring over you can make this less enviable than it seems.
Terje Width - Norway, UK, Kenya

John Omondi – Kenya

John helped rebuild the car but is also a multi-year runner guiding the team fearlessly through the bush.
The team are hoping that his mechanical know-how is needed rarely but when it is, Omondi is our man!
Andy Pitt – UK, Kenya

Andy is back, 10 years on from when he last rode in the Millenium Falcon.
This time he slips into the Hot Seat (Navigator) but he has done it before so knows the pressure he's under.
Jason Reynard - UK, Kenya

The team was looking for someone with a tough competitive spirit, fundraising nous and who is able to move faster than a tortoise with a bad knee and a zimmer-frame. So we chose Jason......hmmmm!
Joss Taylor - Kenya, UK
Citizen Joss runs to a sharp set of camp equipment and a full-bore approach to bush bashing.
This year he needs to show up on time, not get sick and lead the team over them hills.
SUPPORT CREW
It is hard to over-state the importance of our support crew. Almost all of them have participated on the Charge and whether they return like vultures hoping for an injury or just the chance to enjoy the wilds of Africa with old chums, they carry out a critical role in the success of the Car 30 campaign. The team needs to know that there is a vehicle laden with spares, tyres and fuel waiting ahead in case of a breakdown, puncture or medical problem. We also all have much more fun with a wider group helping to setup and run the camp, prepare the vehicle for its big day and provide a bit of distraction and light relief to the stress of the final run-up and the release in the after-party.

Ana España Ron - Spain

Ana rode the Charge in 2024 as part of the Car 47 Girl's in Pearls where she broke her wrist.
This year she is supporting the Girls again but riding shotgun in The Internationals' Car 30 Support car.
Simon McCrum - Asia, UK, Kenya
Simon is our Nairobi based Master Chef.
After the disastrous food experience of 2024, we are bringing in a real heavy hitter for our upcoming 2025 campaign.
Ian Cox - USA, Kenya
Ian, the Eastern Seaboard American, got smacked in the head last time out and needed a few stitches.
Rotating back out of the car, Ian reverted to Camp Manager, a critical role in the enjoyment of the whole Rhino Charge experience.
Frederik Eijkman - Netherlands, Kenya
in earlier years his wife called him the team flower boy in reference to his taste in shirts, which amused all of us.
The shirts can be quite special.
Tony North - South Africa
Mad Tony has charged with us a couple of times before. He keeps the torches burning late into the night long after the rest of us have gone to our cots.
We are hoping for his arrival in May 2025, at his age we can't quite be certain if he will make it.
